There was this tutorial I saw that helped me out, I managed to find a video that goes through the method I used, it's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsIX81SlpwY the only difference is I used a cutter for both the plate and the foot, but I did the pressing technique just the same. It's actually really easy to make bowls using that pressing technique too.

However while I was googling tutorials to try to find the one I used, I happened upon this tutorial here: http://www.scs-craft.com/2012/11/polymer-clay-plates.html They have a nicer looking foot on the plate, but it might be difficult! Anyway there are tons of other tutorials out there. One tip though is that if you use sculpey you have to use sculpey glaze to gloss your pieces because just painting them with lacquer results in a bad chemical reaction that leaves the plates tacky. If you have any other questions I would be glad to answer them! :)

Thanks for the info. :) I ended up going with key lime, which isn't a perfect match, but it looks good with the whole rainbow spectrum. As for the blue, I wound up trying water mixie which is a more vibrant teal and also not a perfect match. Here is what I think though....after seeing lots of pictures where people used the color "blueberry muffin" on other things, I'm pretty certain that one could be a very close match. I've never been able to buy blueberry muffin though because it always seems to be sold out when I am placing a doll hair order. I think it's definitely worth a try though! ;)

I know it's been quite a while since you posted this, and you may have already figured it out, but I wanted to drop a note: Dash's green is probably Lucky Clover. That's the green listed as being used on the early G1 Rainbow Ponies, and Dash's green is just about indistinguishable from the green streak on my vintage Starshine.

Did you ever figure out the blue?

Unfortunately it does not work. I just tried it with my Clawdeen's head and because the monster high neck hole is larger, the head basically as you said, eats the neck and sits on the shoulders of the doll. I imagine though if you really wanted to do it you could try modifying the neck peg to make it larger. After all if people can mod neck pegs to put Pullips on obitsus, I'd say nothing is impossible. ;)
