I believe the correct pronunciation is "Mee-Nay", but I prefer the pronunciation of "May-Nay". Etoile's name is French for star, if you were not aware, though it's pretty basic no? Anyhow if you are unfamiliar with it, the pronunciation goes something like this "ehtwall". |
Page Specific Notes:
Page 12: It was written into the script that Etoile would have a motorbike, and originally I thought I would give him a Vespa. However while I was in the middle of penciling the first half of the chapter I also started reading Gokinjo Monogatari, in which I was introduced to the Cub. The Cub is waaaaaaaaay cooler than the Vespa could dream to be, so ultimately I decided to give Etoile a Cub instead. This specific Cub was modeled after a vintage Honda Super Cub. \(^_^)/
Pages 13-15: I've never written a character into a story to only have her disappear after 3 pages. It feels a bit weird, but it is essential. Don't worry though, this isn't the last we will hear from Kairi. Not a lot of backgrounds in this segment. When I am feeling headachey I have difficulty focusing on detailed backgrounds unfortunately. :p

These are a few songs that I recommend listening to while reading Patches. (^_^) Most of the songs on this list are what I envision would be playing during certain scenes if this were animated. There isn't too much right now since I kinda just started writing the series. ^^;
She Will Be Loved - Maroon 5 (ending theme) If this comic were to ever be animated, I think I would like this song for my ending theme. The lyrics and mood fit exceedingly well with the overall theme of the story. It would be one of those quiet ending themes with lots of romantic shots of my main characters. :3
