New Wig

newwig01Well my second try at finding a better wig for my AE Yara looks like it may be panning out. Since all of the 7-8 sized wigs I had purchased previously were too large for her, I decided to step down to a size smaller. I purchased this 6-7 JpopDolls wig, which I believe was the Jrock style in blush. In the picture it looks very pink, and the wig does have some pink in it, but in person it is not quite so pink.

Anyway back to the size issues….At first when I tried to put this wig on my Yara, it was too small!! So I was really irritated, but then after having some lunch I decided to go work with the wig and try to get it stretched out some since the ad for this particular wig said that it could stretch to 7.5. After working with it, and using the rubber band trick to keep the wig in place, I was finally able to get it over her head. Right now I am just leaving her be, in the hopes that the longer the wig is on her the more it will stretch and conform to her head.

In the end, I have to say that maybe 6-7 wigs are the way to go for the AE minis since their heads are closer to Unoa size. The bangs come to the right length, and don’t get mussed up in her eyelashes. Anyway this will be the last wig I will be buying for a while now since I already went through 3. :p

Dolly Dolly Volume 16 Arrived!

dollydollymsdpageActually my Dolly Dolly book arrived on Saturday, and I just now got around to scanning in the page that features the MSD clothes. Anyway the pic to the left features the separates you can make in MSD size, to see a bigger pic, just click the pic. There are also a lot of other doll patterns in this book for other sized dolls, but you could definitely resize the patterns to fit any doll.

There are lots of other cool DIY stuff in this book as well. There is a whole feature on making fake sweets for your dolls, and also a nice feature on how to make fake silver jewelry for your doll using a special silver art clay. I don’t know if you can get the silver at clay state-side or not, but it looks like fun. There is also a bunka style doll project you can attempt as well. Aside from all the DIY projects there are tons and tons of awesome dolly pics that can give you lots of ideas for projects. There’s quite a lot of Blythe in the book, but there is also a good amount of BJDs and a smattering of other dolls. I must say that I just enjoy picking it up and thumbing through it just for the eye candy. 😀 I would definitely consider buying more of this book as it’s just plain awesome and fun! Just to note though, it’s all in Japanese, so to get the full benefit you need to be able to read Japanese.

Dolly Sized Plush Bunny

withgumdropbunsm

I was tinkering around with making small plush today that could be used for a doll toy, or even just a tiny toy for yourself. I came up with what I call the “gumdrop bunny”. Although I like it, I don’t know if anyone else will find it worthwhile though. I put a crit thread up on DoA about it to see if peeps are interested in this sort of thing. If there is any desire for this kind of thing I may consider making more, and in different colors too.
