I’m selling my AE Yara.

I decided it was time to sell my Asleep Eidolon Yara since she has spent many years in a box. ^^;; I feel kinda bad, but I think it’s because I am no longer as much into the larger “anime eyed” style dolls as I used to be when I was younger. She’s still a pretty cute girl though and I hope someone will give her a better home, because she deserves some fun!. (T_T;;) Anyway my sale thread is up on DoA here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?606193-Asleep-Eidolon-AE-Asleep-Eidolon-Yara-MSD-%28Normal-Skin%29-150-shipped&p=10497863#post10497863 You must be logged in and have marketplace access to be able to see it.

She will come with the curly blonde wig, green glass eyes, ecru star dress, spare jeans, and her original default acrylic eyes and her authentication card. I also still have her pink storage box so she will come shipped in that. I’m asking $150 shipped for her.

New Kemper Wigs and Eyes Arrived.

I ordered a handful of Kemper’s mohair doll wigs last week and they arrived today, so I had some fun trying the different colors and styles on my MSD gals. The wigs I purchased were the Giselle mohair in medium brown in both sizes 6-7 and 2-3, the 2-3 being for my Brownie which I will get to later, and lastly I ordered the Raven mohair in medium brown and carrot colors, both size 6-7. Above, Sona is wearing the Raven medium brown, and I love how it looks on her, though I was tinkering with the levels of the image in photoshop so it appears a bit darker in the pic than it does in person. Yara is wearing the same shade, but in the Giselle style, and lastly my Unoa Lusis is wearing the Raven wig in carrot, though again the adjusted colors make the wig appear more red.

So, here are my overall impressions of these wigs. First of all the 6-7 Raven wigs fit both Unoa and my Dollmore Kid Sona very well with no problems, but I was really kind of sad to find that it was difficult to get this style of wig to fit on my AE Yara. 🙁 It seemed like the room was there in the headcap, but perhaps because of the shape of the cap or the shape of my Yara’s head, the wig just kept popping right off. I really wanted Yara to be able to wear the Raven carrot mohair, because she was really the doll I had in mind when I ordered it. I am however going to maybe play around with the wig and perhaps add some velcro to Yara’s headcap to see if perhaps it might help any. What’s weird is that the Giselle style wig is just a scootch bigger in the wig cap and therefore can be worn by all 3 dolls, however I just wasn’t as fond of that one. The chocolate color, or medium brown shade as listed on the site is a really gorgeous dark brown. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed by the shade of dark brown, and the Raven wigs are especially soft. Both Sona and Lusis look really good in the medium brown Raven wig, so it’s going to be difficult to choose which gets to wear it. ^^; As for the carrot color…I guess I was hoping for something a little more red like in the picture I took, but in actuality the carrot mohair from kemper is more of a natural redhead, copper sort of tone. I may consider experimenting with dying the wig, but that will have to wait for later.

Last but not least my little Brownie Haha got a new wig too, and oh I just find it super adorable. The wig she is wearing the the Giselle mohair, medium brown in size 2-3. When I first saw this wig in it’s package I had a squee moment because I could already tell it didn’t have that odd bulk that a lot of tiny wigs can have, but then when I tried to fit it on her I realized that it was going to be problematic. ^^;; I’m not sure if the size 2-3 in this style is just a skootch small or whether it’s just a matter of headcap shape and dealing with such a tiny head, but the wig wanted to pop off. Because I really loved the wig I spent some time gently stretching it, and I added a small piece of double sided tape to my Brownie’s headcap to help the wig stay on. Just doing this apparently worked because the wig fits her fine now. I’m so in love with this wig because I feel that finally I have something that looks natural for a tiny doll her size. It’s not overly bulky, and the hair is fine enough to be passable scale wise. I’m still curious how the 3-4 might fit a Brownie, but I’m so pleased with this wig that I don’t foresee buying any new wigs for her for a long time. 🙂

So, there’s my adventures with Kemper wigs for what it’s worth. I do love their mohair, and their acrylic eyes also surprised me with how nice of quality they are, especially for the price!! So yay! Another good order fulfilled by Kemper. 🙂

Tiny BJD – AE Chocolate

I hadn’t been BJD browsing in a while, so I decided to go check out Mint on Card, which is where I got my Asleep Eidolon BJD, and I was surprised to see how many new BJD AE has been coming out with! I already knew they had started a tinies line with Cookie and Soda, but it seems now that they have really filled out their models! While I was there I totally fell in love with the little girl in the pic. She’s called Chocolate, and I just love those bit round eyes and tiny diminished nose. For a while now, acquiring a tiny has been on my dolly “to buy” list, but buying a tiny would always get put off for other things. After seeing Chocolate though, I think I am quite determined to get a tiny this year. I also have a 1/12th scale dollhouse she could fit into, though it needs refurbishing.

One reason why I’ve come to find tinies so appealing is the fact that it seems many of them work well with Re-ment and 1/12th scale dollhouses. My main concern for buying my first tiny is going to be what scale will work best for the dollhouse I currently have. The dollhouse I have may not be 100% 1/12th scale, as it is a handmade dollhouse my grandfather made for me when I was a little girl. However most of the furniture is 1/12th scale, and I took a few measurements, and it seems like I might be teetering close to the house being too small for a 15/16cm doll. As it stands now, Chocolate’s head would brush the archways, and the handmade bed would be a tight fit. I’m just not sure. ^^; I’m wondering if I should be looking at Lati whites or Pukipukis instead? Sigh…..I think I’m going to have to seek out help with this one, but I’ll need to get some dollhouse pics up first I think.

Other concerns over which size of tiny to get would also be the ease of finding wigs and clothing for them. I realize that some of the really small tiny bjd can even wear Kelly clothes, and that would be quite nice! On the other hand, the smaller the wig, and by my eye, tinier wigs= less detailed wigs that often look crappy or odd. Anyway if anyone has any advice to give me I would surely love to hear it!

Dollmore & Asleep Eidolon Resin Comparison

After getting my Sona out of her box, one of the first things I wanted to do was to see how the tint of Dollmore’s resin compared to Asleep Eidolon’s resin. The Dollmore kid body lacks the mature features that many of the other female MSD bodies have, so there are many Dollmore kid owners who have been pondering how they can get a more mature body for their girls. Of course I am in no hurry to hybridize my Sona because she is just to perfect to me right now, but perhaps after her newness wears off I may find myself more willing to embark on experimentation. Anyway on with the comparison pics.

In this pic we have Sona on the left and my AE Yara on the right. My AE Yara has the old style slim body, and the AE girls are now on their third body type which is no longer as slim. I don’t know if AE’s resin color has changed at all between incarnations but if I find any definitive information I will be sure to edit this posting. Anyhow from the pic you can see that the two resins are very similar and I would say they are a pretty good match. AE’s resin is ever so slightly more cream colored and Dollmore’s is slightly whiter, but you really have to sit there and analyze and nit-pick in order to see the difference.

Anyway here is a close-up with more natural light from the window for those of you who would like more comparison shots in different lighting. Hopefully these pics can help people with their decision making when they are considering a different body for their Dollmore Kid.

New Photoshoot on Flickr

I just posted my latest photoshoot with Laika on my flickr account. I took her outside into the garden for the first time! I also posted this shoot on DoA, which subsequently is also my first time posting anything in the gallery.

Anyway enjoy the rest of the pics on my flickr.
