Ended up Going for Sona!

0820430004502Yep, as the title states, I took the plunge so to speak and ordered a Kid Dollmore Sona, she will come with the eyes in the picture, but I ordered a black mohair wig for her…well let’s just say I requested it. I heard that Dollmore listens to your requests so I am hoping I get the black mohair wig. Now is the waiting game. ^^; I know Dollmore ships faster than most doll companies, but this is actually going to be the first doll I have ordered through the maker rather than a reseller. I know I have been spoiled by the fast shipping from places like Mint on Card and Junkyspot though. ^^;;;; So yeah I am prepared for a longer wait even though I hope for a short wait, lol.

  1. Oops, I put in a heart and WP ate the rest of my comment. Anyway, I was just saying that it was a Dollmore doll which first caught my attention back when I first started looking at dolls. I never got her, sadly she didn’t look half as good in owners’ pics as in the promo pics. I still haven’t 100% decided against her, though (she’s a Lili’s Liv, SD sized).

  2. No way! Lillis Liv is the doll that caught my attention so long ago and she was basically the doll that introduced me to the Dollmore site. I loved her melancholy look, but I too didn’t like the promo pics of her…I guess I’m not much of a blonde haired dolly fan. ^^; Anyway later on down the line after getting my first MSD I decided that SDs were a little too big for me. Actually I saw your latest tinies and I’ve been thinking about trying out even smaller dolls now, lol. XD

  3. How peculiar! 😀

Tinies: 16cm really is just a perfect size. I am thinking that perhaps Pukifees are the best ones, posing wise, because Mui-chan’s hands fall off when you try to flex her wrists, Lati Yellows have ridiculously short arms, and the cheaper brands don’t offer much of a wrist movement at all. But yeah, the size is perfect – they fit well with re-ment and such, they easily slip into your purse for traveling, and they aren’t as tricky to pose as the even tinier ones (I have a Realpuki and two Lati Whites too, plus the middle tiny sized Puki and two Brownies). Problem with the tiniest ones is posing them when dressed; the fabric of most home made outfits will build quite a bit of volume, making it hard to pose the doll in a natural position (sitting by a table, especially).

  4. Thanks for the advice on tinies. I’ll probably make my first one a 16cm based on your recommendations. I do like the Mui-chans though because of their crazy faces, and from the pics it looks like their bodies are a little less chunky looking. Have you seen Asleep Eidolon’s tinies named Cooki and Soda yet? They both have really sweet looking faces. Heh, you know if I had the money I would like to get a couple of those little pet dolls too and have a little Beatrix Potter fantasy going on in my 1:12 dollhouse. 😀
