Dollmore & Asleep Eidolon Resin Comparison

After getting my Sona out of her box, one of the first things I wanted to do was to see how the tint of Dollmore’s resin compared to Asleep Eidolon’s resin. The Dollmore kid body lacks the mature features that many of the other female MSD bodies have, so there are many Dollmore kid owners who have been pondering how they can get a more mature body for their girls. Of course I am in no hurry to hybridize my Sona because she is just to perfect to me right now, but perhaps after her newness wears off I may find myself more willing to embark on experimentation. Anyway on with the comparison pics.

In this pic we have Sona on the left and my AE Yara on the right. My AE Yara has the old style slim body, and the AE girls are now on their third body type which is no longer as slim. I don’t know if AE’s resin color has changed at all between incarnations but if I find any definitive information I will be sure to edit this posting. Anyhow from the pic you can see that the two resins are very similar and I would say they are a pretty good match. AE’s resin is ever so slightly more cream colored and Dollmore’s is slightly whiter, but you really have to sit there and analyze and nit-pick in order to see the difference.

Anyway here is a close-up with more natural light from the window for those of you who would like more comparison shots in different lighting. Hopefully these pics can help people with their decision making when they are considering a different body for their Dollmore Kid.

Sona Arrived! Box Opening Pics Follow :D

I was more than shocked today to find that my Sona arrived! Her tracking number still didn’t seem to be working on the EMS site, so I thought for sure that her progress must have been slow and I truly wasn’t expecting her until next week. As it is she must have been on an airplane that landed in Chicago for her to get to me so soon. Anyway I was totally excited and I am more than pleased with her. Box opening pics follow behind the cut!

New Mohair Wigs

It’s not the best picture because it’s overcast and rainy today, and well I didn’t put much effort into the picture, but my mohair wigs from Kemper Dolls finally showed up today. I bought this little 6-7 carrot mohair wig in a cute bob style to try on my AE Yara, and I bought another one in black in a 7-8 for my Dollmore Sona when she arrives. I think the shorter hair style makes makes my Yara look older, which was the goal. When I first put it on I wasn’t really so sure about the wig, but it’s growing on me and I think with some more styling it could be pretty cute. I didn’t bother taking the black one out of the bag yet because I figure I’ll wait until my Sona arrives.

Anyway overall I think the quality of Kemper Dolls mohair wigs are very good, and I can definitely recommend their wigs for that, especially since I got the carrot wig on sale for only $7.00! However their customer service left a little to be desired frankly. I ordered the wigs a little over a week ago and they have a order tracking section on their website which strangely they never updated, so I was left thinking that my order was still in “processing” all week. Finding this odd for items that were supposed to be in stock, I decided to email them, but they didn’t get back to me very quickly, and after sending them another email today, finally something got kicked out and I was finally given my UPS tracking number. Apparently the order had been shipped on the 7th, but they just neglected to tell me or give my tracking number. As it is I got my tracking number literally a few hours before the package showed up.

In the end I received good quality wigs, and within a reasonable amount of time, but it irritated me that their communication was poor, since most other sellers I have dealt with have been prompt and good communicators. Perhaps I shouldn’t be so fussy, but well, that was my experience so you can take it for what it’s worth.

Ended up Going for Sona!

0820430004502Yep, as the title states, I took the plunge so to speak and ordered a Kid Dollmore Sona, she will come with the eyes in the picture, but I ordered a black mohair wig for her…well let’s just say I requested it. I heard that Dollmore listens to your requests so I am hoping I get the black mohair wig. Now is the waiting game. ^^; I know Dollmore ships faster than most doll companies, but this is actually going to be the first doll I have ordered through the maker rather than a reseller. I know I have been spoiled by the fast shipping from places like Mint on Card and Junkyspot though. ^^;;;; So yeah I am prepared for a longer wait even though I hope for a short wait, lol.

Narrowing the Playing Field.

So I’ve taken Island Doll’s Amy off of my list of possibilities. The main reason why is that after doing some searching I found some threads on DoA and saw some owner pictures that leave a little bit to be desired. For some reason in a couple of the pics the doll’s faces looked shiny for some reason. Maybe it was just bad photography, but I don’t want a shiny doll, lol. The other reason I am taking her off my list is that out of the few who posted their box opening, their dolls arrived flawed. 🙁 One the foot broke off and the other had a broken finger. I realize these things can happen, and their problems were resolved to their likings, but when I see that kind of stuff it turns me off a little bit.

I’ve also decided to take 5star doll’s Yoka off my list because when viewing owner pictures I found her eyes to be a little too large for my tastes, though her pout is still very cute. I think really I have narrowed my list to Latiblue Yern and Kid Dollmore Sona, but I could always wind up adding more to the list again. I really like a lot of the Iplehouse head sculpts….but sheesh, the JID bodies are so very Amazonian. XD

Well, enough random blabber, time to go drool over dolls again….
